One Summer Service Starts Sunday, June 5!
One of the jobs of the elders is to provide an environment that best facilitates spiritual growth and development for our church. It is in that spirit that we decided to move to one service for the summer. Starting Sunday, June 5 and going through the summer, we will have one worship service at 9:30 a.m.
This gives us a great opportunity to worship together as one church family, and I’m really looking forward to praising God as one body through song, prayer, preaching, and all the other ways we honor God and encourage each other on Sundays.
Our summer schedule for children’s ministry will have a slightly different look as well. Parents, you will check your kids in as you always do on Sundays. We’ll have child care as usual for infants-4 year olds. However, instead of dropping your Kindergarten-4th grader off for their class when you first come in, you’ll actually bring them into the sanctuary with you. They will participate in singing and the early part of the worship service, and then they’ll be released for the children’s program just before the sermon.
I know that the 9:30 a.m. time will be perfect for many of you. For some of you it will be something of a sacrifice, either later or earlier than you might prefer for Sundays. So I want to thank you in advance for making that sacrifice. I think it will be really beneficial for the church to be worshiping together as one body on Sundays, so thank you for helping the church in that way.
If you have any questions about children’s programming for the summer or about any other areas that may be impacted by having one service, please contact the church office at 262.632.2111, or by email at email@example.com.
Additionally you will soon be receiving a survey for you to share your thoughts on the timing of our services and our Sunday morning discipleship programming beyond the summer. Please take time to complete the survey before June 19th! Electronic surveys will be available on The City and paper copies will be available at the information center.
