Care Net
www.care-net.org Care Net pregnancy centers offer hope to women facing unplanned pregnancies by providing practical help and emotional support. Their ultimate aim is to share the love and truth of Jesus Christ in both word and deed. As a result, the hearts of women and men are being changed by Christ's love to desire positive and healthy choices. In addition, those struggling with past abortions are finding God's healing and forgiveness. Genesis House www.genesishousewi.com The Genesis House of Southeastern Wisconsin was established in 1990 as a non-traditional Christian maternity home offering shelter and guidance to women who are facing a crisis pregnancy. It is one of the only maternity homes in the state of Wisconsin that offers residency to a mother and her children. This creates an opportunity for the women to bond with their children in a stable and supportive environment while learning new skills and establishing a plan for the future. This caring program is designed to educate girls about options available to them and explore the pros and cons of single parenting versus adoption. HALO www.haloinc.org The Homeless Assistance Leadership Organization Meet Racine County's emergency shelter needs for all men, women and children, coordinates supportive services that help homeless adults become self-sufficient, provides community leadership to prevent chronic homelessness, and ensures homeless children get positive support through stable living and learning environments. Harvest Food Bank Harvest Food Bank is supported by the joint effort of many local churches in Racine. The churches provide financial assistance, food donations and volunteer staff to distribute the food to the needy. The majority of referrals to this food bank come from the Salvation Army office in Racine however participating churches may also send families that qualify financially. Grace Church is a drop off site for non-perishable food items. Collection barrels are located in the entry areas. Volunteers to staff Harvest Food Bank on Tuesday mornings are always welcome. To volunteer, contact Larry Rightler at 262.884.8948. |
