We believe in a believer's baptism by immersion, as a symbol of entrance into the body of Christ. It is a public declaration of one's faith. If you are interested in being baptized, our next baptism will be on May 5th during our Prayer and Praise Service, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. A pre-baptism meeting will take place Sunday, April 25th at 8:30 am in the loft. Click here to register.
Why do we baptize? First, God commanded us to. Mathew 28:18-20 reads "Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'
Finally, it proclaims publicly what has happend to us spiritually and gives us an opportunity to glorify God. Romans 6:4 reads "We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
