Church-Wide Scripture Memory
As a way of uniting together and encouraging one another to grow in Christ, we are encouraging you to memorize a verse we have selected. These verses have been chosen to help you reflect on the truths discussed in each Sunday’s sermon. Consider setting aside intentional time to memorize and reflect on this verse this week on your own, with your family, your Life Group, or others.

Some helpful Bible memory tools & strategies
The Bible Memory App (a free app for apple or android products that helps you to practice verses of your choosing) other similar apps include “Verses – Bible Memory”, “Fighter Verses”, and “Flash Verse”
Listen to It! Use a Bible App that has an option that reads the passage to you. Play this on repeat during your commute, while cleaning the house, or while getting ready for bed!
Write it down!
-
- Write the verse down and post it someplace that you frequently look (at your desk, in your planner, etc) Get creative – you can use a dry erase marker to write it on your bathroom mirror and practice while brushing your teeth, write it on a piece of paper and stick the paper in a Ziploc bag and post it in your shower so you can practice the verse while you wash, rinse, and repeat. Having the verse as the lock screen on your phone can also be a helpful tool!
- Write (or type) the verse several times in a row until you can do it easily. If you’re artistically inclined. Write the verse in a fun script and draw around it with pictures that help you reflect on the meaning of the verse.
-
Make it into a game! There are a lot of ways you can do this. Here are a few to try with a friend or with your family:
-
- Each person takes turns saying the next word of the verse. See how fast you can go. You can make it even more exciting by passing an object between you like “Hot Potato”
- Write the word on a chalkboard or dry erase board. Say the verse then erase 1-2 words and say it again. Then erase more words. Continue this until all the words are gone.
-
Sing It! We will try to post a song each week (if we can find one) to help you learn the verse. If you can’t find an already existing song, make one up on your own or put the words to a familiar tune.
Move to It! Makeup actions for keywords. Do the movements as you practice the verse. Don’t worry – you don’t have to do the actions in public ????
