Where Members can serve Christ and His people at Grace Church

Serving provides us the opportunity to show Christ’s love to one another. Below are the various ways you can serve throughout the different ministries of our church.

Nursery Volunteer

Show Christ's love to our littlest ones by cuddling, caring for, and playing with them during the worship service. Come spend one Sunday a month with our infants and toddlers in the nursery!

Sunday Morning Classroom Helper (Beginners Classroom)

Help to make Christ known to our children on Sunday mornings by serving as a classroom helper. Classroom Helpers work with Lead Teachers to keep the class going smoothly. Opportunities are available to serve one Sunday a month with kids of varying ages:

    • Beginners Classroom (ages 2-3)
    • PreK/K Classroom (ages 4-6)
    • Worshippers in Training Classroom (ages 6-9) *meets in the second half of service

IG-Nite Small Group Leader for all age groups!

Small Group leaders will spend time with a small group of students each week (3-5 students) and review the evening’s topic with them through provided discussion questions and activities.

On-Call Childcare Team Member

Love spending time with little ones, but have a limited schedule? Join our On-Call Childcare Team. Opportunities to serve are made known to this team as they arise, such as special events or midweek programs that meet at the church.

Project Prepper

Help prep projects for kids! You can take things home to cut, sort, prepare crafts/activities, etc. When a task arises, we’ll give you a call!

Children's Ministry Desk Host

Be the first face new families meet when they check-in their kids on Sunday mornings!  The Desk Host assists with the check-in process for new families as well as helps to troubleshoot any issues on the self-serve stations (training for this is simple and will be provided).  Other small administrative tasks such as an attendance count are also a part of this role.

Serves once a month during the service.

Blaze Pod Leader

Pods are the student ministry version of Life Groups, where students build community. Invest in the lives of students on a weekly basis, volunteering as a Pod Leader, guiding students through this pivotal time in their lives.

Kitchen Coordinator

Put your hospitality skills to use by preparing, serving snacks, and cleaning up after Blaze on Wednesday evenings. Volunteers can serve on a monthly or weekly basis.

Baker

Share your love of baking with the youth of Grace Church by baking treats once or twice a month for Wednesday evening Blaze.

Vocalist

Serve the congregation by leading them in worship through music and prayer one Sunday morning a month. Thursday night rehearsal time allows you to connect with other members of the team.

Musicians

One Sunday per month you will have the opportunity to share your musical giftings during Sunday morning worship service.

Readers

Share God’s Word with the congregation by reading the sermon passage on Sunday mornings as needed.

Sound Technician

It’s the sound technician’s job to make sure that everyone can hear the service. Whether it’s the preaching or music on a Sunday morning, or the kid’s songs at VBS, the sound technician operates the mixing board to ensure everyone in attendance can hear.

ProPresenter Operator

You. A focused person with great attention to detail and knowledge of Mac computers. The task, follow along during service and stay ahead of the program to display various images and videos on screens on Sunday mornings. The ProPresenter Operator serves once a month and also attends Thursday rehearsals.

Light/Video Technician

Set up and operate the lighting system during Sunday worship; as well as monitor the live stream video feed.

Communion Set-Up Team

Be a part of the preparation for monthly communion service by distributing communion elements in the sanctuary and cleaning up after service every other month.

Photographers

Share your photography skills by taking photos at various events and gatherings throughout the year. Photos are used for the Grace website, annual reports, and other various mediums.

Bookstall Volunteer

Do you enjoy reading books that help you grow in your faith? Would you like to help others do the same? Serve at the bookstall once a month and help get great resources into the hands of our congregation.

Women’s or Men’s Ministry Volunteer

Do you enjoy connecting with others and meeting new people? Maybe you like to help organize events or just help set up? Or leading a small group discussion is one of your gifts? If you said “Yes!” to any of these, we would love to have you serve with women’s or men’s gatherings, retreats, One-to-One Bible reading, etc. Don’t worry, even introverts have a place here!

One-to-One Bible Reader

Reading the Bible is an integral means for knowing Christ more intimately. One-to-One Bible Readers are people who take the initiative to start a Bible reading relationship with one or two other people. Whether you’d like to do this with your spouse, children, coworkers, or neighbors, we will gladly equip you with the tools necessary for this task.

Life Group Leader

Growing our relationship with Christ happens best in community with others. Life Group leaders have the unique opportunity to build such communities within our church. Life Groups launch in the fall and spring with training provided.

Sunday Morning Class Teacher

Equip others to live out their faith by teaching a class. Classes launch each fall and spring. If this is an area of passion and giftedness, sign up for this exciting opportunity.

Missionary Care

One of the best ways we can serve those sent out from Grace is to warmly receive them when they come to visit. If you like hosting people in your home and want to help support global missions, sign up to provide care to our missionaries when they come to visit. *This service opportunity is on an “as-needed" basis.

Local Partnership Volunteer

Our Local Partnerships are designed to give you the opportunity to engage with people in our community who aren’t yet part of our church. Opportunities abound to work with adults, families, and children in the Racine area.

Prayer Team Leader

Our Local Are you passionate about prayer? Do you have a heart to see the world know Christ? Make an impact on the world by praying for our missionaries around the world by praying for them and gathering others to join you. We are looking for leaders for each of our missionary partners and will equip you for this important task.

Short-Term Mission Trip Team Leader

One of the best ways we support our missionary partners is by sending support teams to work alongside them. If you share God’s heart for the world and the ability to lead teams, this might be the perfect opportunity for you. Leaders need to have first served on a short-term trip before leading a team.

Greeters

A cheerful “Good morning” and a warm smile is all that’s needed to greet people as they come to service on Sunday morning. Serving as a Grace Greeter is also a great way to meet and connect with others at Grace!

Welcome Table

Greet folks at our Welcome Table, just outside the Welcome Room. Provide information and gift packs and answer questions for our first-time guests. Share your love for our church with those who are new and looking to get plugged in at Grace.

Information Center Host/Hostess

Make a great impression on newcomers and regular attendees by serving at the Information Center. Serving once a month answering questions, giving directions, and helping people feel more welcome at Grace.

Sanctuary Care

Create a comfortable environment for Sunday morning service by ensuring the sanctuary is clean and restocked with Connect Cards, pencils, and giving envelopes. This can be done anytime the church is open from Sunday after service through the following Saturday. Can be once a month or once quarterly.

Ushers

Welcome our people into the sanctuary with a warm smile and a Worship Guide. Ushers also help attenders more easily engage with the worship service by answering questions and providing assistance when needed.

GriefShare Leaders

GriefShare is a 13-week program for those suffering the grief of a lost loved one. If you would like to walk alongside those on this journey, we would love to equip you for this important ministry.

Card Ministry

Did you receive any encouraging mail today? Come and make someone else’s day by sending out cards of encouragement to those who are hurting in our congregation.

Meal Team

Serve love in a tangible way through food. Help families in need by taking (or sending) a meal to them.

Funeral Team

Provide loving care for grieving families by attending to the details to meet their needs surrounding the funeral. These hospitality skills of setting tables, serving food, clean up and more will be of comfort to families.

Security Team

Utilize your background in law enforcement, military service, and security to assist in providing a safe and secure environment at Grace services and events. Safety/Medical

Response Team

As a member of the medical response team, you’d serve as needed on Sunday mornings and be positioned and prepared to respond to events requiring medical attention.

Facility Care

We have opportunities for those interested in helping with simple jobs around the church such as: weeding, trimming, snow removal, grounds clean-up, and other small projects. As projects come up, we set up convenient times to come and complete the tasks!

Building Maintenance

Commitment: One to two hours per month (indoors and outdoors tasks). Seekings those to advise or provide specific skills (including but not limited to):

    • Drywall repair
    • Painting
    • Tile repair
    • Landscaping

Decorating

Do you have an eye for decor or muscle to move things around? We'd love your help from time to time!

Bible Brunch Ministry

Do you attend the Senior Adult Bible study? Come early to assist with set-up and stick around for cleanup after.

Senior Care

Are you able-bodied and know your way around a toolbox? Help serve our senior community by visiting homes of seniors to help with regular maintenance things that they may have difficulty doing.

Office Support

Administrative duties, answering phones, and assisting with mailers, are just a sampling of tasks one would perform within the Grace office.

Data Entry

Share your attention to detail and computer skills with the behind-the-scenes operations of the church on an as needed basis.
